Masterworks International is owned and run by Phil Young and Morag Campbell

Having a small book publishing company was something Phil had dreamed of for a long time. A life long lover of books he opened his first alternative bookshop in Dorset in1984. He specialised in books on philosophy, martial arts, health and healing and various esoteric subjects. At that time there were numerous small publishing companies that catered for these less than main stream books but as these companies were taken over or pushed out more and more by the big boys over the years, he noticed that it became harder and harder for authors of these more obscure yet deeply interesting topics to find a publisher.

Masterworks International Publishing was created in 2003 in response to the needs of these authors. With the advent of publishing on demand it became feasible to publish books, that no matter how good and how important their message, would not be picked up by the mainstream publishing houses.

Morag's contribution, apart from writing, is in the area of design. Most of the covers of the MWI books are down to her, as well as the look of the various Masterworks websites.

They say there is a book in everyone. This may be an over exaggeration but there are clearly interesting, experienced and gifted people out there who have something to share and we like to think that we can give them a chance to do just that.
